Zhao Dalu is a Beijing-born contemporary artist renowned for his evocative paintings that blend Eastern and Western artistic traditions. After studying fine arts at the Beijing Film Academy in 1978, he participated in the inaugural exhibition of the influential Stars Art Group. Zhao later served as a professor at Capital Normal University and further honed his skills in Italy, integrating classical oil painting techniques into his work. Since relocating to Australia in 2001, he has continued to explore themes of memory, identity, and cultural heritage through his art. His works have been exhibited internationally and are held in prominent collections, including the National Portrait Gallery of Australia and the Queensland Art Gallery.
