Artwork Statement
My practice is rooted in imagination and the construction of dreamlike worlds that extend beyond immediate reality. I am interested in how internal visions — shaped by memory, emotion, and fantasy — can take form through painting.
Dream Creator reflects this process of world-building. Rather than representing a fixed narrative, the work operates as an open space where imagery unfolds intuitively. Through colour, scale, and gesture, I create a visual environment that invites viewers to step into a constructed yet fluid reality.
In a contemporary context where everyday life is increasingly structured by logic, productivity, and external systems, I turn to imagination as a way of expanding possibility. The act of painting becomes a means of reclaiming creative agency, allowing space for play, invention, and emotional expression.
Within Distributed Worlds, this work considers how imagined spaces can exist alongside and beyond material realities. It offers an alternative mode of engagement, where meaning is not fixed, but continuously created and reinterpreted.

Kassie Suen Kassie is an emerging artist whose practice explores imagination, storytelling, and the emotional resonance of inner worlds. Working primarily with painting, her work reflects a fascination with dreamlike imagery and the ways fantasy can intersect with lived experience.
