The Light that leads
Acrylic on Canvas, 112 × 75 × 4 cm, 2025
Artwork Statement
The Light That Leads responds to a contemporary condition shaped by fragmentation, acceleration, and dispersed attention. I am interested in what it means to seek steadiness without denying uncertainty — to remain present within a world that often feels unstable or difficult to navigate.
The work draws on the experience of being on water without full control of direction, held between vulnerability and guidance. Rather than depicting crisis directly, it focuses on a quieter form of disorientation — an internal state that emerges when clarity is no longer guaranteed. Within this space, light operates as both a visual and symbolic presence, suggesting orientation, faithfulness, and the possibility of remaining grounded.
Across my broader practice, water functions as both subject and metaphor, reflecting renewal, presence, and inner steadiness. Within Distributed Worlds, the work proposes stillness not as passivity, but as a meaningful act of attention — a way of moving forward through trust, reflection, and quiet awareness.
