Artwork Statement
My practice moves across design, photography, and painting, shaped by an interest in storytelling and emotional connection. I draw inspiration from Chinese poetry, natural environments, and everyday observations, approaching image-making as a way of engaging with the world through sensitivity and attention.
Series of Dream – DayDreaming reflects this approach through a visual language that blends memory, atmosphere, and personal reflection. Rather than presenting a fixed narrative, the work creates a suspended space between observation and imagination, where visual elements emerge from quiet, everyday encounters.
In a contemporary context where experiences are often fragmented and accelerated, I approach creative practice as a way to reconnect with slower forms of perception. Within Distributed Worlds, the work reflects on how personal and cultural narratives are dispersed across different contexts, yet can be reassembled through acts of storytelling, observation, and care.
Artist Bio
Yunhan Lu is a Melbourne-based visual designer and emerging creative practitioner whose work spans graphic design, photography, exhibition coordination, and painting. Her practice draws on Chinese poetry, nature, feminism, and personal emotional experience, exploring how visual storytelling can foster connection, empathy, and cultural dialogue.
