Artwork Statement
In The Realm of Blue and White and Time Writing No. 8, Ling employs the imagery of blue and white alongside the concept of time to symbolise women’s contemplation and exploration within both time and space. The interplay of blue and white suggests balance and integration — between tradition and modernity, rationality and sensibility — while the careful use of material and colour reveals the inner worlds and emotional landscapes of women in contemporary society.
These works resonate with the themes of Her Inspiration: Women’s Art Exhibition, reflecting cultural memory and social concern from a female perspective. At the same time, they invite viewers to reflect on the creative power of women in art, and to find points of resonance within their own experience.
 
Artist Bio
Ling Hu was born in Sichuan and graduated successively from the High School Affiliated to Sichuan Fine Arts Institute, the China Academy of Art, and the Sino-German Graduate School of the China Academy of Art. In 2009, she obtained her master’s degree from the Berlin University of the Arts in Germany. She is currently a faculty member at the School ofArt and Design, Zhejiang A&F University.
