Artwork Statement
Tales of Spring is inspired by the quiet vitality of everyday flowers, capturing fleeting moments of seasonal change through a language of pattern and form. Using circular compositions reminiscent of traditional Chinese flower windows, each image frames a small, intimate scene — a fragment of spring held in suspension.
The work integrates classical motifs such as ice-crack patterns and geometric brocade textures, creating a dialogue between historical ornament and contemporary floral imagery. These layered structures introduce rhythm and depth, allowing traditional visual language to be reinterpreted within a modern design context.
A soft, low-saturation palette of tender yellow, light green, and peach pink evokes the subtle atmosphere of early spring — a moment before fullness, where growth is still emerging. Through this restrained chromatic approach, the work reflects a sense of calm, balance, and quiet renewal.
Extending across scarves, ceramics, and decorative surfaces, the series transforms ephemeral natural beauty into tactile, everyday objects. Within Distributed Worlds, the work reflects on how cultural memory, seasonal rhythm, and aesthetic experience can be carried into daily life, creating moments of reflection within an increasingly fast-paced and fragmented world.
 
Artist Bio
AXIEXIE is a multidisciplinary designer and artist holding a Master of Fine Arts and working as an assistant engineer in product design. As the founder of AXIEXIE Pattern Art Studio, her practice focuses on the development of artistic products, including silk scarves, ceramics, and decorative objects. Bridging design and visual art, her work draws on traditional Chinese aesthetics and contemporary pattern design to create refined, everyday objects that embody cultural memory and lived experience.
