Untitled
Oil on bark, 24 × 15 cm × 2, 2026
Artwork Statement
This work emerges from a contemplation of nature, materiality, and temporality. Beginning with a close observation of everyday matter, the painting seeks to engage with the traces of time, land, and existence embedded within pigment and material. Through the act of painting, the artist attempts to dissolve the boundaries between humanity and nature, allowing the image to become a quiet space where all forms coexist in silent dialogue.
Artist Bio
Jin Yue is a contemporary artist whose practice explores the relationship between natural traces, material memory, and bodily perception. Working with natural materials, she draws on surfaces shaped by insect erosion, weathering, and decay to investigate how time becomes embedded within matter. Through restrained palettes and layered painterly processes, her works create atmospheric spaces poised between landscape, bodily presence, and abstracted forms of writing. Her practice reflects on the transformation of traces into imagery, revealing how materials can carry memory, duration, and the subtle echoes of lived experience.
